Remember the forgotten ancient Japanese art of paper diorama? We do, and we’re doing our bit to revive it! This is the breathtaking ‘Red Fuji’, a painting from a series of works by artist Hokusai (1760-1849) titled ‘36 Scenes of Mt. Fuji’. And this DIY also comes with a surprise – it is actually double-sided. One side is Mt Fuji in the clear dawn, glowing a stunning flaming red as the rays from the rising sun hit the summit; the other side is the view of the mountain at dusk, as things turn darker. This view is of Mt Fuji on a rainy summer evening with gigantic clouds and a thunderbolt of lightning striking its foothills. The colours are stunning and the scenery is simply beautiful. To assemble this diorama you will need a paper scorer, blade or scissors, glue or double-sided tape and you’re ready to go. Printed in Japan, the assembled diorama measures 185mm x 124mm x 124mm.
