Tatebanko is the forgotten Japanese art of paper diorama. And we are doing our bit to assist in its revival! This is the magnificent ‘Great Wave’ off Kanagawa. It is a painting from a series of works by artist Hokusai (1760-1849) titled ‘36 Scenes of Mt.Fuji’. We had a lot of fun with this DIY. It was so satisfying seeing the finished product! All you’ll need is a scorer, blade or scissors, glue or double-sided tape and you’re ready to go. And keep an eye out for the little secret inside… we’d tell you more but we don’t want to spoil the secret! Shhhhh. Printed in Japan, the assembled diorama measures 185mm x 90mm x 124mm.
